What to eat: the Sweet Salt of Cervia
July 4, 2023
Ours is a sweet salt and it is our brand, what identifies us. Behind the salt pans there is a story, made up of work, effort, ideas and a community that over the decades has been able to embellish this very important product!
Cervia salt is a salt:
Cervia salt is a salt:
- Wholemeal , because once harvested it is exclusively washed with water with a high saline concentration, very rich in trace elements and naturally positive substances for the body, then left to dry in the farmyard, in the heaps of salt that can be seen arriving in Cervia from everywhere. The Sweet Salt of Cervia is not crushed or ground. It does not contain anti-aggregating agents or whiteners, and is not dried in ovens. That's why it maintains its typical humidity and its natural colour, a guarantee of wholesomeness and naturalness.
- Marino , because its origin is sea water which is brought into the saline from the tributary channel, to then be evaporated and concentrated until the production of salt is reached
- Sweet , for geographical, historical, climatic and chemical reasons. The position of the salt pan, the northernmost in Italy, the characteristics of the basins and the Adriatic Sea, make sure that the salt obtained from it is made up of very pure sodium chloride, with a low, almost non-existent, presence of other more bitter chlorides.
